WHO WE ARE:
Founded in 2014, Project 308 Design is a full service architecture firm, providing both traditional and non-conventional applications of problem solving in architecture, interiors, and related industries. In its over 7 years of operation, the team at Project 308 has worked to support over 1M SF of design and construction across the continental United States, with specialties in corporate office environments, security-based design, medical office, and a growing K-12 portfolio.
The company, at its core, is the realization of a long held desire of its Managing Principal, Chris Penndorf, to found a practice that serves as a creative extension of his voice, personality, and approach to both business and design. As the company has grown over the years, so has the overall talent, personality, and skill set of the practice, creating an organic and ever evolving entity that is reflective of the characteristics of its team members.
With its staff of Architects and Interior Designers, Project 308 is well-suited to support a variety of project types and needs, including preliminary programming, space planning, predesign facility studies, design and construction documentation, furniture and finish consulting, and three-dimensional visualization. In conjunction with its selected consulting partners, Project 308 is able to provide comprehensive design services from the initial stages of project planning through completion and occupancy.

HOW WE DO IT:
DEFINE
You can’t design a project if you don’t know what you need to design. This may seem like a simple statement, but too often this stage of the process is rushed or ignored altogether. The information yielded from the preliminary investigation will inform the direction of the project in a number of areas critical to the successful execution of the design. Project 308 seeks a shared commitment from Owners, Consultants, and other participants to provide insight and information in this gathering stage. The project team will use various forms of communication, including face-to-face meetings, phone interviews, and web-hosted surveys to assist in uncovering project information that may benefit the design, construction, and, ideally, the eventual occupancy of a space by its end users.
DESIGN
The Design portion is where the fun really begins. This stage is all about problem solving through creativity and a translation of concepts into a different three-dimensional language. It’s during design that the traditional Industry Standard Schematic Design and Design Development stages take place and the design modeling and drawings begin to take shape, and it’s where we start to see the reality come together.
DELIVER
As the project continues to develop, the Design Team will work to ensure that all of the necessary parts and pieces that accompany the creative exercise fall into place. Project 308 and its consultants collaborate through a comprehensive coordination process, integrating building systems to support the project, confirming life safety and code regulations are accommodated, and developing working drawings that will see the project through the local permitting and construction process. We do not consider the project completed until the actual construction is done, so the traditional Contract Documents and Construction Administration phases fall under this umbrella.
